I made up a quick model of the solar system for some experiments I had, and I wanted to be able to visualize the scale sizes and distances between the planets and sun. When I was done, I figured maybe others wouldn't mind a simple model to work with. The file is in .c4d format and all textures are included.
All planets and the sun (which isn't pictured, but is in the scene) are proportionately the correct size, however distances are not. Basically I created the scene in meter increments in Cinema 4d, and for the sizes of the planets I took their dimensions in real world kilometers and divided the numbers by 1000. So the Earth is 12800 km in diameter in real life, in the scene its 12.8 m.
These textures are not really very detailed, just a color map and a bump map when I could find them. All planets are included, but the only moon included is ours.
I thought Pluto didn't count anymore <_<. I'd of though Eris, Cyris, and Makemake would of shown up. Otherwise, quite cool though. Though, whenever I see these, think how far away say, another city on Earth is, then how big Earth is to me, and how puny Earth is to those gas giants, yeah. GOod times.
I really like Uranus in this by the way. I think its the coolest looking of the planets you have there.
And stuff.

Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
